FAQ
Nubax may be beneficial for, but not limited to:
- Osteoarthritis
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Ankylosing spondylitis
- Lumbar lordosis and kyphosis
- Sciatica
- Scoliosis
- Herniated discs
- Spinal degeneration
- Chronic lower back pain
We recommend using it 2 to 3 times a day. However, everyone is different, so it's important to experiment with frequency and duration to determine what works best for you. Spinal traction is generally more effective when used regularly and frequently, rather than for long periods of time.
Numerous clinical trials that have evaluated spinal decompression on thousands of patients as well as on Nubax confirm that this method of treatment does not present any risks for the patient.
In fact, the Nubax has been designed in a way that prevents you from exerting a decompression force that will be too high for your spine, even if it is weakened. The Nubax therefore offers you the practice of axial decompression without risks and without the need for assistance .
Of course, this doesn't mean that it's not highly recommended to start gently so that your muscles, ligaments, and joints gradually get used to this new force. Decompressing too much during the first sessions could strain a muscle, especially if it suffers from chronic contracture.
The only contraindications to axial decompression are if you have a torn muscle or ligament in your back or if you have very advanced osteoporosis in your vertebrae. If you have had one or more spinal surgeries, it is generally recommended to wait a few months before using the Nubax. Your neurosurgeon will be able to advise you.
In all other cases, correctly performed axial decompression can only provide a positive or neutral evolution in the worst case.
Whether your back pain is due to a combination of protrusions, pinching, disc disease, hernias, osteophytes, osteoarthritis, vertebral displacements, or whichever vertebrae are affected, you can safely begin practicing axial decompression.
This does not, of course, prevent you from seeking the advice of your doctor or physiotherapist regarding your personal situation. However, the practice of spinal decompression is relatively unknown in France and is not typically studied by the majority of health professionals.
Nubax works primarily on the lumbar region, from the base of the shoulder blades to the lower spine. Its effects are therefore mainly felt in the lower back.
If your knees slip:
- Place the Nubax on a yoga mat or towel.
- Try to bring your knees forward in the machine.
- You can also place your feet against a wall for more stability.
Yes. The Nubax is designed to fit most body types.
- By adjusting the knee position, everyone can find an effective pulling angle.
- If necessary, place a cushion or towel under your knees for added comfort.
The maximum recommended weight is 150 kg. Beyond this limit, there is an increased risk of premature wear of the belt and hammock, as well as a loss of strength at the joints of the device. Use beyond this limit is not recommended.
After lower back surgery, it is essential to allow time for healing. Since surgery is usually a last resort, the use of Nubax may be contraindicated.
Always consult your surgeon before using Nubax in this case.
Except in cases of severe osteoporosis, axial decompression does not pose any particular danger. On the contrary, it has been shown that regular application of forces to the bones slows the progression of osteoporosis and strengthens their resistance.
If in doubt, ask your doctor for advice.
Yes. Many people who have had arthrodesis use the Nubax without any problems.
- Fused vertebrae will not benefit from traction.
- But the adjacent vertebrae will fully benefit from the effects.
If you are unsure, consult your doctor.
Yes. Difficulty bending occurs most often when standing. The Nubax works in a kneeling position, with your legs bent at a 90° angle, which makes the exercise easier. You can use a cushion under your knees for added comfort.
Yes. The axial traction provided by the Nubax has no negative effects on pregnancy. However, if you experience any discomfort, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional.
